Dace Sūna is a designer and spatial artist whose work explores how light shapes the perception of space. Across her works, reflection, diffusion, and spatial perception emerge through the interplay of materials, drawing attention to optical phenomena and atmospheric conditions. Working primarily with glass, she approaches light as a spatial material capable of transforming atmosphere, depth, and color.
Through this work, light becomes both subject and medium, revealing how subtle variations in material and illumination influence the way space is perceived and experienced. Her installations create moments of stillness, immersion, and heightened awareness, where light not only defines space but also guides the viewer’s movement.
Sūna holds a Master’s degree from Design Academy Eindhoven and a Bachelor’s degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology. She currently lectures at the Art Academy of Latvia.
